Nora Bateson on liminality is awesome and if you're interested in coupling your child development reading with adult development reading then William Bridges on transitions is great and reflects developmental transitions as well. These are often spaces where we have no language for what's happening (so good on you for putting words to what's swirling in your head). Rohr's first quote reminds me of "the woods between the worlds" in the 6th Narnia book, The Magician's Nephew, CS Lewis paints a rich picture of those in-between places.
